How to use Garvin
Talk to your PC. Get things done.
Garvin is controlled mostly by voice. Once you're signed in, just say its name and ask naturally. This guide walks you through setup, the most useful commands, and what to do if something isn't working.
Step 1
Getting started
Six quick steps from install to your first voice command.
Install Garvin on Windows
Download the installer from your beta email and run it. Garvin supports Windows 10 and 11.
Open Garvin and log in
Launch Garvin from the Start menu. Sign in with the account you created on the website.
Allow microphone access
If Windows asks, allow Garvin to use your microphone. Without it, voice commands won't work.
Pick your audio devices
Open Settings → Audio and choose your input (mic) and output (speakers/headphones).
Say “Garvin” to wake it
Garvin sleeps until you call its name. You'll see a glow when it's listening.
Speak your command
Talk naturally — “open Chrome”, “what's the weather?”, “make a to-do list for today”.
